Barnel lubricating oil BOIL is made specifically for use on Barnel cutting tools. After cleaning your pruner or lopper blades, a light coating of this oil helps dissolve sap, displace moisture and protect the cutting edges from corrosion. It is safe to use on all Barnel pruners and loppers and is biodegradable, non toxic and non hazardous, which is helpful when you are working around plants, animals and people.
For tools fitted with a Barnel centre oiler bolt, Barnel recommends loading oil into the reservoir every second day. Gently depress the ball bearing on the centre oiler bolt and squeeze the bottle to feed lubricating oil into the mechanism. This keeps your hand tools running smoothly and helps prevent wear in New Zealand’s damp, sappy conditions
