The DEK 9HP Petrol Engine is a practical replacement and drive engine for Kiwi customers needing dependable petrol power for pumps, machinery and general workshop or rural applications. This model uses a DEK 9hp (270cc) 4-stroke single-cylinder air-cooled petrol engine and is rated at 8.8hp @ 3600rpm, making it a handy option for equipment that needs a bit more performance while still staying compact and easy to work with. 

It comes fitted with both electric start and recoil start, giving you flexibility depending on how the engine is being used and whether battery starting is available. The engine runs a horizontal 1” keyway shaft with counter clockwise PTO output direction, and also features TCI ignition and a low oil level cut sensor for added convenience and protection. 

The product page also lists a 5.5 litre fuel tank, 380mm x 430mm x 410mm dimensions, 70dB(A) noise level at 7 metres, and a 25kg weight, giving you a practical balance of output and manageable size for workshop, farm and lifestyle block jobs. DEK also notes that its products use quality NTN / NSK bearings and are cast sleeved, which is a useful durability feature for longer-term use. 

As with the other serviceable engines and machines we sell, this unit is started, oiled and tested in our Hamilton workshop prior to delivery. We also carry spare parts and do servicing in house, so you have local New Zealand backup if you need maintenance or repairs down the track.
