The Gallagher Smart Fence 2 (G70000) is designed for Kiwis who want flexible grazing without wasting time wrestling separate reels, standards and wire. Each unit combines four wires, 10 posts and built in winding reels into one compact bundle that you can carry in one hand. Clip it to a suitable energizer and you have a strong, visible temporary electric fence ready for cattle, sheep or other stock.
You get up to 100 metres of 4 strand fencing from a single Smart Fence 2. The telescopic posts have multiple insulator positions, so you can run all four wires, or drop to two or three wires depending on the stock you are managing. Heights can be adjusted to suit calves, adult cattle, ewes or horses, making it ideal for break feeding, on/off grazing, protecting wet areas or fencing off waterways.
Set up is simple. Anchor the first end, walk out the unit while placing posts, clip the end onto a suitable anchor or fence line and tension using the integrated reels. There are no separate reels to tangle, and when you are finished you simply wind it back in and move to the next break. Many New Zealand farmers use several Smart Fence units together to build larger grazing cells or lane systems that can be shifted quickly through the week.
The Smart Fence 2 uses highly conductive wire and strong, UV-stabilised posts built to cope with New Zealand sun, mud and stock pressure. It connects to any appropriate mains, battery or solar energizer, including Gallagher’s portable units, so you can plug it into the gear you already have on farm.
Whether you are running dairy, sheep and beef, or a small lifestyle block, the Gallagher Smart Fence 2 helps you get more from rotational grazing while cutting down set up time and frustration.
